The season of giving is upon us, and we were very grateful last week to be able to act as ambassadors for Ford’s Focus on Child Hunger program, which is donating thousands of dollars to Northwest Boys & Girls Clubs this month in an effort to help feed kids during the holidays.

Ford Sales Manager Joel Nickerson and Finance Director Rikki Fraughton traveled to Talent Elementary during Thanksgiving vacation to present the Talent Boys & Girls club with a check for $1,000. “The only thing more gratifying than the smiling faces of the kids was knowing the kids who needed help getting food would be getting some this holiday season,” said Joel, father of two. Rikki, father of 3, felt similarly grateful for the opportunity to give back. “I’m just so proud to work for a company that gives so much to the community,” Rikki said.

Ford’s Focus on Child Hunger is a unique collaboration between Ford Fund and Northwest Ford dealerships to aid in the fight against child hunger. Jim Vella, president of the Ford Motor Company Fund and Community Services, said “By addressing the issue of hunger…we are going further to create stronger communities.” We certainly hope this will prove to be the case, and look forward to future opportunities to support the Talent Boys & Girls Club and other invaluable community resources.
