May 2013 “Drive” for Phoenix High the Biggest Success Yet!

20 May

IMG_2649Wow. Just… WOW! We don’t even know who to thank first for the most successful Drive 4 UR School event Butler Ford has ever held: All the Phoenix High parents and staff who volunteered their time and energy to ride along with the drivers, the BBQers who kept us running on a steady diet of hotdogs, the school reps who brought an assortment of Pirate apparel to sell, the FFA members who sold gorgeous plants and flowers, the Butler employees who volunteered to give up a weekend day to lend a hand, the Pirate Pep Band for literally rocking the house, or the Pirate fans who braved an iffy weather day to drive in support of a particular student, activity, or club. Everybody gets our heartfelt thanks and congratulations!

Drive 4 UR School is a Ford Motor Corporation program that allows dealers to partner with local schools to raise money for extracurricular activities. The company donates $20 for each qualified test drive up to $6,000. In order to receive the full amount a school has to bring in 300 qualified test drivers. This weekend, Phoenix blew that number out of the water with a rough total of 340+ drivers! WOW!! They drove to benefit the football team, the swim team, the drama club, and Future Farmers of America, which is fundraising for a trip to the national competition.

The best part is we all had fun, and we hope everyone who turned out to participate did, too. Pirates, we’ll partner with you ANY TIME!

  1. What a very nice post and great pictures! Thanks to everyone that made our day a success. As you said, it takes a lot of people to make an event come together like that. It’s always heartwarming to see the support of the community for our students!
