42 years ago Ford Racing introduced the 1969 Boss 302 Mustang, a muscle car born on the track and bred for speed.  The pony won the first race it entered at Laguna Seca speedway in California.  A legend was born that day.  Driven by such well-knowns as Parnelli Jones, the Boss 302 demanded attention and commanded respect.

July 2011 the legend returns to Butler Ford, in the form of the 2012 Boss 302 Laguna Seca edition powered by the newly reengineered Ford Racing 302 High Power output 444hp V8 monster.

American Muscle was refined by Ford with the 2011 Mustang that can rack up 30 mpg.  But, this summer, American Muscle’s returning to its roots.  All 4000 units to carry the Boss 302 badge boast fully adjustable suspension, quad exhaust and Brembo.  And that’s where the similarities between the 4000 Boss 302s and their 2012 Laguna Seca brethren stop.  Ford Racing will build only 750 numbered units, all featuring a full stabilizer bar set up in the cabin replacing the rear seat, front air splitter, unique body kit and paint scheme, Recaro seats, racing instrument cluster and the twin keys, an industry first.  The Laguna Seca comes with a blue key computer programmed for around town driving, and a red key that releases all the ponies and reprograms the computers for 100% track usage.  The 2012 Boss 302 Laguna Seca edition is unlike any Mustang built in the last 42 years.  Or, more accurately, it’s unlike any Mustang ever built.
